Whitestone Communications Represents U.S. Medicine in its Sale to Marathon Medical Communications, Inc.

Washington, 22 September 2008 — Marathon Medical Communications, Inc. announced today that the company has purchased U.S. Medicine from U.S. Medicine, Inc. New York-based merger and acquisition advisory firm Whitestone Communications, which specializes in handling transactions in the publishing, information, Internet and training fields, represented U.S. Medicine in the transaction.

U.S. Medicine is a national, independent, monthly newspaper covering subjects related to the practice of medicine and health care management within the Departments of Defense, Department of Veterans Affairs and the U.S. Public Health Service. Founded in 1964, it has a circulation of 38,000 federal medical professionals including physicians, pharmacists, physician assistants, nurse practitioners and administrators. U.S. Medicine is published monthly including two special issues-a January review of federal medicine over the previous year and a special August edition devoted to the Frank Brown Berry Prize in Federal Healthcare. In addition, U.S. Medicine produces an annual directory of federal medical treatment facilities, a yearly compendium of federal medicine spotlighting the work of U.S. health agencies in the fight against diseases specific to the federal patient and hosts a Web site at www.usmedicine.com.

U.S. Medicine was founded by Frank M. Best who served as editor during its formative years and as chairman and principal owner until his death in 2007.
