ASPEN PUBLISHING ACQUIRES CHARLES D. SPENCER & ASSOCIATES

New York, N.Y., May 15, 2002—Aspen Publishers, a division of Wolters Kluwer, has acquired Charles D. Spencer & Associates, one of the country's oldest and leading providers of information serving the worldwide employee health and pension benefits market. Spencer was represented in the transaction by the investment banking firm of Whitestone Communications, Inc.

Spencer publishes extensive proprietary information on benefits in print and electronic formats that reaches more than 100,000 executives through paid individual, controlled and bulk subscriptions in the U.S. and abroad. Lead publications include:

  • Spencer's Research Reports on Employee Benefits, a major looseleaf service
  • Spencernet, an Internet information service
