Haights Cross Communications Acquires Andrews Publications

Whitestone Communications Represents Haights Cross Communications in its Acquisition of Andrews Publications

Whitestone client Haights Cross Communications acquired Andrews Publications on April 21, 1999, making Whitestone the most active deal-maker for newsletter publishing in the U.S. With the Andrews transaction, Whitestone has now completed four newsletter deals in approximately the last two years and five deals within the last three years. Founded in 1984, Whitestone is an investment banking firm representing buyers and sellers in all areas of publishing, information and training.

Haights Cross Communications is a rapidly growing business-to-business, education, and training materials publisher with annualized revenues of more than $100 million. Haights Cross includes medical, wellness and legal publisher Oakstone Publishing, supplemental publishers Newbridge Educational Publishing and Sundance Publishing, and computer certification publisher The Coriolis Group. Haights Cross is headquartered in White Plains, N.Y.

Andrews Publishing is a leading publisher of newsletters on major areas of litigation. Formed in 1970, Andrews originated its particular newsletter format of "Litigation Reporters" which combines news articles covering court actions with reproductions of actual court documents. Based in Wayne, Penn., Andrews has grown to now publish more than 50 Litigation Reporters.
