Baran Rosen, broker at Whitestone Communications Inc., said sellers are hampered by "memories of past valuations."
Aspen Publishers, Inc. for example, has had its education unit on the block for quite some time. In April we reported one Aspen principal as saying, "We are pretty far along in the process" (NL/NL 4/15/03), but a broker we spoke with this week said he had brought a number of potential buyers to them and Aspen's response was that "my valuations are too low."
Rosen foresees an "uptick in transactions toward the end of the year."
